Peaceful site on a farm near the village of Hartest Bury St Edmunds and Ickworth House within 15 minutes drive Back to basics pitches with running water and space for campfires Bring on the chilled country days… peace is served up by the spade at Waldegrave Farm, a secluded site between the villages of Lawshall and Hartest.

Should you require their urban amenities, the towns of Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham and Long Melford are all around 15 minutes away by car. Rural relaxation is the name of the game here though – all the classic ingredients are on hand for your stay on-site, including hedgerows home to wildlife, a little brook flowing through the grounds and plenty of open space for not doing very much at all (although one might stretch to creating a campfire and cracking open a beer or two...?).

There’s little here to distract from the vibe: amenities on the basic pitches are limited to running water, but there are no toilets or showers on site. According to the owners, this is not so much a campsite as a farm with remote pitches around it. If you want to be alone or just with your group this is the place to come. The end goal is that staying at Waldegrave Farm will make you feel like you're the only people here, no matter how many pitches are occupied.

Hill Farm is a working farm in mid-Suffolk. We primarily grow crops and we also have sheep in our meadows. 

We have two holiday cottages. We also have a small glamping site, with our tents located in our beautiful woodland, with views over fields and hedgerows. Each tent is named after a local Suffolk punch horse, past and present.

You will find a small family run campsite at Church View. No frills but everything you need for a quiet retreat in a convenient location. Family friendly and lively in the summer months and just quiet countryside living when you most need it!  

Plenty of lanes to walk or cycle or just wander into the village of Barrow to pick up your supplies at one of the two local convenience stores.    

If you decide to 'stay in' you are welcome to use your BBQ or firepit while you watch the sun go down.

Also in the village are two pubs and a chippy!

Your four legged friends will love the local walkies and 1 dog is included per pitch. The total number of dogs on site is limited.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

With loads of activities in the area the big kids will be happy and the little ones have a small play area on site. The campsite rabbits and chickens love visitors too.  

Church View started as a CL and has evolved into the 36 pitch site it is today. The site is run by Julie and Glen who offer a contactless check-in but are on site to give you a warm welcome and assistance if you need it together with their campsite wardens.

PLEASE NOTE : On the first weekend of every month and from 23rd June - 2nd Jul inc. the site hosts a marathon event. The start and finish line are on the camping field and there will be some movement from about 7.30am as they arrive and set off. The events usually finish by about 3pm. The event is open for any runners for marathons, ultras, and half marathons. www.suffolkrunningcentre.co.uk

Moat Farm is a working family-run fruit farm set in the unspoilt Suffolk countryside. We are just half an hour from the heritage coast and within one mile of the pretty timber-framed village of Debenham, which is well served with local shops and amenities.

We grow mainly English eating apples - Cox’s, Royal Gala, and Russet dessert apples along with a range of traditional varieties (including Lord Lambourne, James Grieve, Charles Ross, and Blenheim Orange). We press some varieties to make our juice and are also proud to supply the East of England Co-operative and Aspall cider who both champion local producers.
Situated on a quiet country lane, we have a self-contained campsite (Caravan Club Certified Location) within the 26-acre orchards, with hard standings and electric hook-ups designed for caravans, camper vans and motor homes.
