Two iCal feed types — which URL to use

Holiday Fox gives each unit an iCal URL so Airbnb, Pitchup, and other channels know when you are already booked. There are two versions of that link. Using the wrong one causes confusion — using the right one keeps calendars clean.

Quick answer

Paste the standard unit feed (from your partner dashboard under Accommodation → iCal) into Airbnb and other booking channels. That feed sends your Holiday Fox bookings and manual blocks outward. It deliberately does not send Airbnb imports back to Airbnb — that would create duplicates. The /all feed is only for your own complete calendar view.

Includes

  • Bookings made through Holiday Fox (website, widget, direct)
  • Partner manual bookings created with “Add booking”
  • Manual blocks — including your notes (e.g. guest name)

Does not include

  • Bookings already imported from Airbnb, Pitchup, etc.

✓ Use this URL when connecting to Airbnb, Booking.com, Pitchup, and other channels.

2. Full feed (/all)

Includes everything in the standard feed, plus

  • External imports already synced into Holiday Fox (shown as “External Cal”)

✗ Do not paste the /all URL into Airbnb or similar channels — you risk duplicate blocked dates.

Useful for spreadsheets, backup calendars, or auditing the full unit schedule.

Why it looks like a booking was “overwritten”

Manual blocks and external Airbnb imports live side by side. They are not merged into one row — so the calendar can look confusing even when nothing was deleted.

Overlapping bookings in the partner calendarPartner calendar (same unit, same dates)May 2026[+] The CottageHF bookingAirbnbExpanded sub-row (airbnb channel):airbnbManual block (notes live here — click the grey bar, not Airbnb):Rachel SargentiCal does not replace manual bookings — both rows can exist on the same dates.

Notes disappeared?

Notes only appear on manual blocks (grey/unavailable bars). Orange “External / Airbnb” entries do not carry your block notes. Click the correct bar in the calendar.

Pressed [+] and saw an empty row?

The [+] expands the Airbnb channel sub-row. Holiday Fox and manual bookings stay on the main unit row. Scroll to the sub-row or collapse [+] to see both layers.

Viewing the wrong month?

A manual block that ended in May will not appear when you are browsing June — you may only see Airbnb imports for that month. Switch back to the month where the block was created.

Where to find your feed URL

  1. 1Log in to the partner dashboard
  2. 2Go to Accommodation → select your unit → iCal / calendar sync section
  3. 3Copy the HFox iCal feed URL (standard unit feed — no /all on the end)
  4. 4Paste it into each channel's calendar import / iCal sync settings

Common questions

What is the difference between Holiday Fox standard and full iCal feeds?

The standard unit feed (shown in the partner app) includes Holiday Fox bookings, partner manual bookings, and manual blocks with notes. It excludes external imports already synced from Airbnb and other channels. The full feed adds /all to the URL and also includes those external imports — useful for your own records, not for pasting into Airbnb.

Can an Airbnb iCal import replace a manual block in Holiday Fox?

No. Manual blocks and Holiday Fox bookings are stored separately from external imports. They can overlap on the same dates and both appear in your calendar. External imports do not delete or overwrite manual blocks.

Which iCal URL should I paste into Airbnb?

Use the standard unit feed URL from Accommodation → iCal in the partner dashboard (https://ical.holidayfox.com/.../units/... without /all). Do not use the /all feed on external channels — it can cause duplicate blocked dates.

When do manual blocks appear in the iCal feed?

Immediately. The feed reads live data from your calendar — there is no separate publish step. Channels may take from 15 minutes to a few hours to refresh after you add a block or booking.
