Pay by Bank

Guests pay straight from their bank

Guests pay for a booking in their own banking app instead of typing in a card. The money can't be charged back, and there's no card to be declined.

Rolling out now on instant-book listings

It's arriving first on instant-book listings, for bookings in pounds. Where it isn't on yet, guests pay by card as usual. There's nothing for you to switch on.

What it does for you

Can't be charged back

The guest approves the payment in their banking app, so there's no card dispute that pulls money back weeks after the stay.

No declined cards

No expired cards, wrong numbers or card limits. The guest pays from their bank balance.

Confirmed straight away

The payment is confirmed while the guest is booking, so you know the money is there.

Quicker on a phone

One tap with Face ID in their banking app, instead of typing a 16-digit card number.

How your guest pays

  1. 1

    They choose Pay by Bank

When they pay, they pick Pay by Bank and then their bank.

  2. 2

They approve it in their banking app

With Face ID or their usual login, like any other bank payment.

  3. 3

    You get the booking

They come back to the confirmation page and the booking lands in your calendar.

Questions owners ask

Can I still give a refund?

Yes. You can refund a Pay by Bank payment when you choose to, the same as a card payment.

Do I need to set anything up?

No. Where it's available, guests see it next to paying by card. The money goes to the same bank account as your other bookings.

Which bookings can use it?

Instant-book listings first, for bookings in pounds. Everywhere else, guests pay by card as usual.
