Bank payments

Campers can pay straight from their bank

Campers can pay for a reservation from their bank account instead of a card, using Link, Stripe's quick way to pay. The payment is confirmed while they book, and Stripe's fee is lower than for a card.

Stripe decides when to offer it

Bank payment shows up for US campers on reservations under $7,500 when Stripe's checks allow it, and your Stripe account needs some history first. When it doesn't show, campers pay by card as usual.

What it does for you

Confirmed straight away

The payment is confirmed while the camper is booking, so you know the money is there. It reaches your bank on the same timeline as a card payment.

Paid even if the bank sends it back

If the camper's bank returns the payment, for example because there wasn't enough money in the account, Stripe still pays you.

A lower fee than a card

Stripe takes 2.6% + 30¢ for a bank payment, against 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card.

No declined cards

No expired cards, wrong numbers or card limits. The camper pays from their bank account.

How your camper pays

  1. 1

    They choose Bank

When they pay, they pick Bank and find their bank.

  2. 2

They connect their bank with Link

They log in to their bank once. Campers who already use Link just pick their saved bank account.

  3. 3

    You get the reservation

The payment is confirmed straight away and the reservation lands in your calendar.

Questions owners ask

Can a camper still dispute a bank payment?

Yes. A camper can dispute a bank payment with their bank, the same as a card. You answer it the same way, with the reservation details.

Can I still give a refund?

Yes. You can refund a bank payment in full or in part, the same as a card payment.

When do I get the money?

On the same timeline as a card payment, into the same bank account as your other reservations.

What does it cost?

Nothing extra from us: our 5% is the same however the camper pays. Stripe takes 2.6% + 30¢ for a bank payment, less than the 2.9% + 30¢ it takes for a US card.
