The town of Windsor, located in Berkshire and just 30 miles west of London, is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is a great day trip from the capital. Windsor is well known around the world for its royal connections and Windsor Castle is one of the Queens official residences and the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world. Tours of the Castle involve viewing the State apartments, St Georges Chapel and the extraordinary collection of paintings on display around the castle. If world class attractions are more your thing, then Legoland Windsor is a great day out with rides, jaw dropping exhibits and masses to see and do.
