Curly Pitch 

This pitch is our premium pitch which is a converted horsebox lorry. 
​
It is a quirky space that is suitable for a family or a couple. This is a large unit which the whole family will love as it’s a bit different and fun. There is an outside balcony to sit and enjoy looking out over the meadow and the spectacular views beyond.
 
There are 3 sleeping areas, (3 small doubles) which are above the cab, the kitchen area and a sofa bed in the living area.

The accommodation is provided for those who love the idea of camping but can’t cope with all the fuss of putting up tents and having a hard floor to sleep on!  Yes -it's cheating but who will know?

In the horsebox there are solar powered lights, a phone charger and pumped water and sink, plus a small gas stove for the morning coffee.

Outside there is a beautiful covered kitchen area with a handcrafted kitchen bench,  which is fully equipped with everything you need to cook as well as a gas hob and picnic bench. The cover extends to the fire pit area in case of rain.

The hut has its own UV and sediment-filtered spring water supply and a separate heated Ty Bach washroom and toilet (with a 'proper' loo) and shower. It is surrounded by oak decking, meaning you won't get your feet muddy!

There is a wood-burning fire and electric heater in the hut, a microwave oven and gas hob and grill, an outdoor seating area with solar lighting, a barbecue and fire pit, and secure off-road parking.

A recently installed hot water system for the shower and outside washing-up area gives you all the luxuries of home – and if you cannot bear to be out of touch with the outside world we have fibre WiFi to the hut (and plenty of power points).

Caban Bryn Arw

Our traditionally designed shepherd's hut Caban Bryn Arw is situated in our separate garden (for your own use and not shared) very close to Abergavenny's dramatic Sugar Loaf mountain. It is secluded and private but with the advantage of fabulous views over the countryside. 

There are many footpaths – including one right outside the hut – leading to great walking and mountain biking countryside. Visit the pretty town of Crickhowell and the River Usk. Or sample local food and drink in the area’s pubs and restaurants.

Cayo ~ retreat waters edge glamping & holiday site

There is a wonderfully relaxed and old-school atmosphere here at Cayo Retreat in Herefordshire.  Situated on a working farm, this ' Multi award winning campsite is beautifully laid out and stunning, with dramatic views of the Black Mountains as a backdrop and the glorious Brecon Beacons National Park on your doorstep.  Come here for a digital detox, to get back to nature and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. The campsite has individual bathrooms along with their own beautifully modern wet~  rooms and drinking water.  The site is immaculately kept by the owners, and facilities and pitches are spotless. Well-placed lights are dotted around to give the place a magical feel, and campfires are very much encouraged, with wood available on site.

All are very welcome here - caravans, tents, motorhomes and campervans - and there is a large range of pitches to choose from, with some set along the meandering river that runs through the site.  If you don’t have camping gear then there are a few glamping options; pre-erected (unfurnished) bell tents or - for an extra touch of luxury - treat yourself to one of their ' Triple awatd winning 'fully furnished deluxe Bell Tents - beautifully decked out with beds and bedding, cosy throws, seating and lanterns.  There is also one static caravan with 3 bedrooms and well equipped - including a shower room and toilet - for a very comfortable stay indeed.

The enviable location of Cayo Retreat means that you don’t have to go very far to get to some of the area's best walking and mountain biking trails around the Brecon Beacons and Offa’s Dyke, so dig out those hiking boots and get exploring.  After a day on the trails, head back to the campsite, swim in the river and light up the campfire for an evening of stargazing.  If cooking feels a bit much, wander the fifteen minutes into the local village of Longtown and have a delicious meal at the local pub. If you are looking for a holiday where you can relax, rejuvenate and enjoy the great outdoors, then the gorgeous **Offa’s Dyke Retreat** in **Herefordshire** is quite possibly the place you’ve been looking for.  Nestled in the countryside between **Wales** and **England**, in the small village of **Longtown**, with views over the **Black Mountains** and the **Brecon Beacons National Park**, you couldn’t find a more lovely place to get away from everything and recharge the old batteries.  **Offa’s Dyke Retreat** has been created lovingly with only six boutique **shepherds huts** and two **luxury log pods** available for families, couples, friends….whoever you want to share your holiday with.  They want you to “**Come and Explore the Outdoor**,” and here they make it wonderfully easy to do so!  

The small but beautifully formed log pods sleep two people on a futon bed with bedding and towels included and have a TV, kettle and hairdryer. The location of **Offa’s Dyke Retreat** is absolutely awesome.  Just a few miles from the **Welsh border**, the glamping site is right on the edge of the **Brecon Beacons**, where you are just a stone’s throw away from some of the most stunning walks, cycle rides, canoeing, caving and exploring to be done in the UK.  With vast green open spaces and views for miles, walks here are breathtaking.  There are a range of routes, depending on abilities, plus loads of **trails for cycling and mountain biking** if you’ve brought your bike.  The Brecon Beacons is also one of the most exciting parts of the country for **caving**, and you can explore this extraordinary subterranean world alongside one of the expert guides.  If the full caving experience sounds too wild, then the stunning **Dan yr Ogof Showcaves** offer the chance to explore the caves and rock formations in slightly less intense circumstances!

Willow Acres Campsite 

Nestled amongst the willow trees & wildflower meadows of the stunning Torfaen countryside is Willow Acres Campsite. With spectacular views of the surrounding hills and valleys, get yourself a slice of peace and tranquillity in our traditional and environmental campsite.  

​This small friendly site is run by the farming families of Lasgarn farm. The working farm is home to 300 sheep and a herd of welsh black cattle and is run using traditional farming methods. You'll see a glimpse of farming life and these well-tended animals in adjoining areas of the farm. It is especially exciting during lambing and calving seasons.

At just under 2 acres each pitch has been carefully arranged giving each family bags of space and privacy. With so much to do locally, we hope you will also find moments to just relax and unwind on the cosy campsite and enjoy the extra comforts that make all the difference to a camping holiday.

Pontypool Park is locally referred to as Peoples Park, covering some 64 hectares with Italian Gardens, Britain's only chamber that is twice House, Folly Tower and Shell Grotto to explore! To tell the truth none of these are massively kid friendly so you could well wish to engage them on some trend that is spotting or create an account while youare going along to make it a bit more fun. More child and task friendly facilities consist of a children's adventure play area, rugby pitch (house to Pontypool RFC), tennis courts, pitch and putt, bowls and a dry ski slope plus a leisure centre within the grounds too! The Leisure Centre has a pool that is swimming sports facilities, plus a cafe club and youngsters' Treasure Island Soft Enjoy Area so plenty to complete if the rain sets in! The lands date back to 1703 and boasts the North's biggest specimens of sweet chestnuts, appropriate by the Gorsedd Stone Circle, also referred to as the Circle of Sacred Refuge, a right section of bardic tradition. In a proper color for the ceremonies they used to put on here if you fancy bringing the history to life a bit for young ones you can dress them! A poet dons a sky robe that is blue a magical druid's robes is white, and a science and learning oriented ovate's robe could be green.

Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway
