Little Hotelier (littlehotelier.com, by SiteMinder) is small-hotel / B&B software: calendar, booking engine, channel manager. As shown on their pricing calculator for a UK visitor on 13 September 2026 (1, 5 and 20 rooms): Basics from £29/month plus a 1% booking fee; Pro from £85/month. HolidayFox is a full PMS — diary, website checkout, after-hours live chat, Google Hotels. You do not need Little Hotelier for the diary. Pricing: free for the widget, or from £12.99/month for a full website plus 5% commission on bookings taken through HolidayFox.

If you search “B&B booking software” or “small hotel channel manager”, Little Hotelier is on the page. SiteMinder’s product for properties that are not a full hotel stack: drag-and-drop calendar, a booking engine for your site, and OTA connectivity. Basics is sold as the self-serve plan; Pro adds rate intelligence, metasearch and more channels.

I run HolidayFox, so this is not a neutral page. Both can take a direct booking. The useful question is whether you need SiteMinder’s hotel channel manager, or a PMS that answers at 9pm on your own domain.

What Little Hotelier is, and what they do well

Cloud PMS + booking engine + channel manager + mobile app. Basics: 24/7 chat and email, self set-up. Pro: phone support, onboarding specialist, competitor rate intelligence, rate parity, payments and hotel metasearch as listed on the pricing cards.

Things they genuinely do well:

  • It is a real small-property book. Calendar, engine, channels — built for rooms, not a pitch map.
  • Published calculator, not a hidden quote. As shown on littlehotelier.com/pricing (UK visitor, checked 2026-09-13): Basics from £29/month + 1% booking fee; Pro from £85/month. Entering 1, 5 and 20 bookable rooms showed the same figures. They still say price depends on rooms and whether they sit at one property or several — treat the calculator as what they showed, not as your invoice. 30-day trial. Month-to-month, or annual for a discount.
  • SiteMinder channel connectivity is the extra. That is why a B&B that lives on Booking.com buys them.
  • Do not use older third-party figures ($39 / $179). Their page is a room-count calculator. Quote what it shows today.

If your priority is “a SiteMinder channel manager and a booking engine, and I will staff evenings myself,” Little Hotelier is a credible answer. We will not pretend 5% is cheaper than £29 + 1% on software cost at the Basics figures they showed.

What HolidayFox is, and where we are different

HolidayFox is a full PMS for independent stays: calendar, bookings, payments, guest messaging, self check-in, a daily agenda, a booking widget or hosted website, after-hours live chat, and Google Hotels.

Widget checkout is live on your domain (Stripe). Paying inside the chat thread is still rolling out. You do not need Little Hotelier for the diary. If you already have it, iCal can sync — you do not have to.
