If you search “Airbnb unified inbox” or “Hospitable vs Lodgify”, Hospitable is on the page. A Belgian-born short-let tool: messages, calendar links to listing sites, automations, and on higher plans a direct-booking site, smart locks and an owner portal.
I run HolidayFox, so this is not a neutral page. Both take direct bookings. The useful question: do you need their inbox across several listing sites, or a booking system that answers at 9pm on your own website?
What Hospitable is, and what they do well
Essentials is a free inbox with calendar links to your listing sites. Host adds AI drafts and dynamic pricing. Professional adds a direct-booking website, smart-lock automations and Google Vacation Rentals. Mogul adds owner statements, accounting and fuller inbox AI.
Things they genuinely do well:
- It is a real short-let inbox. Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com and Agoda in one place.
- Published UK prices, not a hidden quote. As shown on hospitable.com/pricing (UK visitor, monthly, 1 property, checked 2026-09-13): Essentials Free; Host £25/month; Professional £49/month; Mogul £79/month. Annual billed at 12% off (£22.00 / £43.12 / £69.52 per month as shown). Extra properties: Host £9 (maximum two listings on Host); Professional £12; Mogul £25. - A free plan exists. That is why a host who only needs the inbox starts there.
- Their AI drafts messages and automates the inbox. It is not a chat on your website that knows which dates are free in HolidayFox and takes the booking there.
If your priority is “a free or cheap inbox across Airbnb and Vrbo, and I will handle the website myself,” Hospitable is a credible answer. We will not pretend our commission is cheaper than Essentials-at-Free or Host-at-£25 on software cost.
What HolidayFox is, and where we are different
HolidayFox is a direct booking system for independent stays. A Book now button on your website, a chat that answers guests any time of day, and one calendar for every booking. We set it up for you.
Guests pay by card on your website through the Book now button. Paying inside the chat is still rolling out. Bookings from Pitchup, Airbnb and Booking.com land in the same calendar, so you're never double-booked. You don't need Hospitable to run it.
