Q-Book (queensboroughgroup.co.uk) is a UK booking PMS for campsites, glamping and holiday lets: website engine, free channel manager (Pitchup, Hipcamp, Campsites.co.uk), guest messaging. Campsite plan: £14.99 + VAT a month, then 20p per pitch booking or 50p per caravan/glamping booking, plus a £99 + VAT enrolment fee. No contract. HolidayFox is a full PMS — diary, website checkout, after-hours live chat, Google Hotels. You do not need Q-Book for the diary. Pricing: free for the widget, or from £12.99/month for a full website plus 5% commission on bookings taken through HolidayFox.

HolidayFox vs Q-Book

HolidayFox
HolidayFox is a full PMS for independent stays: calendar, bookings, payments, guest messaging, self check-in, a daily agenda, a booking widget or hosted website, after-hours live chat, and Google Hotels.
Q-Book
UK PMS + free channel manager (Queensborough Group)

If you search “cheap campsite booking software”, Q-Book is on the page. Queensborough Group. UK phone 01204 373710. Their line is “no contracts, no crazy prices”: a low monthly, pennies per booking, free channel connections.

I run HolidayFox, so this is not a neutral page. Both are a real book. The useful question is whether you want a £14.99 diary and you will answer evenings yourself, or a PMS that answers at 9pm.

What Q-Book is, and what they do well

Q-Book is a cloud diary plus a channel manager: website booking, drag-and-drop calendar, dynamic pricing, reviews hub, optional website from £13 + VAT a month, optional EPOS. Guest messages from direct and OTAs sit in one inbox. They call that guest chat — it is messaging, not a live assistant that sees stock and takes the booking.

Things they genuinely do well:

  • It is a real campsite PMS. Pitches, glamping, caravans, extras, arrivals board, reports.
  • Published, simple prices. £14.99 + VAT a month for unlimited units, then 20p per pitch booking or 50p per caravan / glamping booking. One-off £99 + VAT enrolment (includes setup). No contract. Payment gateway is extra: £3 + VAT a month and 10p–25p per transaction. Source: queensboroughgroup.co.uk/pricing and their campsite FAQ, checked 2026-09-11.
  • Free connections to Pitchup, Hipcamp, Campsites.co.uk, Airbnb, Booking.com and the rest. Their FAQ: “not a sausage.”
  • UK telephone support. They sell a human on the phone, not a ticket queue.

If your priority is “£15 a month, 20p a pitch, free Pitchup connection, and I will handle 9pm myself,” Q-Book is a credible answer. We will not pretend 5% is cheaper than 20p a booking on software cost.

What HolidayFox is, and where we are different

HolidayFox is a full PMS for independent stays: calendar, bookings, payments, guest messaging, self check-in, a daily agenda, a booking widget or hosted website, after-hours live chat, and Google Hotels.

Widget checkout is live on your domain (Stripe). Paying inside the chat thread is still rolling out. You do not need Q-Book for the diary. If you already have it, iCal can sync — you do not have to.

  • Job to be done. Both put a book on the site. HolidayFox also answers after hours and lists you on Google Hotels. Their extra is a cheap published fee plus a bundled channel manager.
  • How you pay. They: £14.99 + VAT / month, 20p or 50p per booking, £99 + VAT to start. HolidayFox: free for the widget, or from £12.99/month for a full website plus 5% commission on bookings taken through HolidayFox.
  • Where checkout lives. Both can take card on your site. Ours is the on-page widget plus a live assistant on that same domain.
  • Discovery. HolidayFox includes Google Hotels and holidayfox.com. Keep Pitchup either way — they via their free channel manager, we via iCal.

Who each one is right for

  • • You want a known cheap monthly bill and 20p a pitch, and you will handle evening enquiries yourself.
  • • You want their bundled channel manager more than a live assistant.
  • You want one system for the diary, website checkout, after-hours live chat and Google Hotels.
  • You have a brochure or WordPress site and guests still bounce to Pitchup after hours.
  • You want to pay when they book, without a £99 enrolment fee to start.
