If you search “campsite booking software UK” you get park management systems, WordPress plugins, OTA listing pages and a handful of 2026 buyer’s guides. They are not the same product. Parks that pick the wrong category either overpay for a diary they already have, or go live with a calendar that still cannot answer a guest after hours.

Three jobs, not one product
The diary. Who is on which pitch tomorrow, extras, owner units, staff logins, the reception chart. That is park PMS territory. CampManager and GemaPark are the names UK touring parks hear most. Pricing is quote-only — ask them; we will not invent a figure.
The website booking. Guests who already found you pick dates and pay on your domain, not on Pitchup. Some PMS products include this. So do standalone widgets and WordPress shortcodes.
The after-hours desk. The enquiry at 9pm that used to sit in email until morning, by which time the guest has booked on an OTA. Almost no park PMS leads with this. When a widget and live chat are enough
A large share of UK campsite websites are still a brochure with a Pitchup or “email us” button and no engine on the owner’s domain. Those sites do not need a park PMS first. They need guests to be able to book on the site they already found — including after the office is closed.

Pitchup does not have to go
Pitchup is a discovery channel. The leak is the guest who already found your own URL, asked a question you did not answer, and went back to the OTA to pay. Calendar sync (iCal) is how you keep Pitchup, Airbnb and Booking.com honest against a direct booking on your site. That is coexistence, not a rip-and-replace.
Who should pick what in 2026
- Full park PMS: you are buying operations. Get quotes from CampManager and GemaPark. Judge them on the chart, not on chat.
- HolidayFox beside the PMS: the diary is fine; evenings still leak. Keep CampManager. Add the live-chat booking assistant.
- HolidayFox on a brochure or WordPress site: no engine on your domain yet. Widget + chat first. Do not buy a park PMS until you actually need the chart.
- Generic AI receptionist or Intercom: those tools ticket FAQs. They do not see your live pitches or take the booking on your domain at 5%.
