Campsite Booking System (campsitebookingsystem.uk) is a UK WordPress campsite engine: WooCommerce checkout on your site, guest portal, iCal, no commission. They publish £25 a month or £250 a year for 10 pitches, then £25 a year per extra pitch. HolidayFox is a full PMS — diary, website checkout, after-hours live chat, Google Hotels. You do not need Campsite Booking System for the diary. Pricing: free for the widget, or from £12.99/month for a full website plus 5% commission on bookings taken through HolidayFox.

HolidayFox vs Campsite Booking System

HolidayFox
HolidayFox is a full PMS for independent stays: calendar, bookings, payments, guest messaging, self check-in, a daily agenda, a booking widget or hosted website, after-hours live chat, and Google Hotels.

If you search “campsite booking system WordPress”, this Cumbrian product is on the page. Not CampSuite (campsuite.net) — different software. Campsite Booking System puts the diary on the WordPress site you already have, via a connector plugin and WooCommerce, and they take 0% of the booking.

I run HolidayFox, so this is not a neutral page. Both are a real book. The useful question is whether you want a fixed £25/month WordPress plugin and you will answer evenings yourself, or a PMS that answers at 9pm.

What Campsite Booking System is, and what they do well

They sell a cloud diary plus a lightweight WordPress plugin: shortcodes for booking forms, pitches and categories. Payments go through your Stripe (or other WooCommerce gateway). Guest portal, warden phone app, iCal to Pitchup and the rest.

Things they genuinely do well:

  • It is a real campsite PMS on your own WordPress site. Calendar, extras, seasons, closures, vouchers, channel sync.
  • Published, simple prices. £25/month or £250/year covers 10 pitches. Extra pitches £25/year each. No commission. Source: campsitebookingsystem.uk, checked 2026-09-11.
  • Checkout stays with you. WooCommerce + your payment gateway. The money never sits with them.
  • A free one-pitch trial. Website install can be DIY or a paid add-on if you do not want to touch WordPress.

If your priority is “fixed £25/month, zero commission, I am happy in WordPress and I will handle the 9pm email,” Campsite Booking System is a credible answer. We will not pretend 5% is cheaper than £25 a month on software cost.

What HolidayFox is, and where we are different

HolidayFox is a full PMS for independent stays: calendar, bookings, payments, guest messaging, self check-in, a daily agenda, a booking widget or hosted website, after-hours live chat, and Google Hotels.

Widget checkout is live on your domain (Stripe). Paying inside the chat thread is still rolling out. You do not need Campsite Booking System for the diary. If you already have it, iCal can sync — you do not have to.

  • Job to be done. Both put a book on WordPress. HolidayFox also answers after hours and lists you on Google Hotels.
  • How you pay. They: £25/month (10 pitches), no commission. HolidayFox: free for the widget, or from £12.99/month for a full website plus 5% commission on bookings taken through HolidayFox.
  • Where checkout lives. Both can take card on your domain. Their path is WooCommerce. Ours is the on-page widget.
  • Discovery. HolidayFox includes Google Hotels and holidayfox.com. Keep Pitchup via iCal either way.

Who each one is right for

  • • You want £25/month, zero commission, and you already live in WordPress / WooCommerce.
  • • You will answer evening enquiries yourself.
  • You want one system for the diary, website checkout, after-hours live chat and Google Hotels.
  • You have WordPress and guests still bounce to Pitchup after hours.
  • You want to pay when they book, not a per-pitch annual add-on as you grow.

Frequently asked questions

Is HolidayFox a Campsite Booking System alternative?

Yes. Both are a PMS. HolidayFox is calendar, bookings, payments, live chat and Google Hotels. Their extra is a commission-free WordPress/WooCommerce engine at a published £25/month.

Is this the same as CampSuite?

No. CampSuite is campsuite.net / bookings.campsuite.net. Campsite Booking System is campsitebookingsystem.uk. Different products.

Can I keep Campsite Booking System and use HolidayFox?

You can sync via iCal if you already have it. You do not need to. HolidayFox is the diary.

Is Campsite Booking System cheaper than HolidayFox?

On software cost, £25/month with no commission can be cheaper than 5%. HolidayFox is free for the widget, or from £12.99/month for a full website plus 5% commission on bookings taken through HolidayFox. Compare on who answers at 9pm, not only the software invoice.
