PayCamp (paycamp.co.uk) is UK site-management software for campsites, caravan parks and marinas: bookings, invoicing, VAT, electricity billing, a guest portal. Plans start at £49/month for up to 25 units. HolidayFox is a full PMS — diary, website checkout, after-hours live chat, Google Hotels. You do not need PayCamp for the diary. Pricing: free for the widget, or from £12.99/month for a full website plus 5% commission on bookings taken through HolidayFox.

HolidayFox vs PayCamp

HolidayFox
HolidayFox is a full PMS for independent stays: calendar, bookings, payments, guest messaging, self check-in, a daily agenda, a booking widget or hosted website, after-hours live chat, and Google Hotels.

If you search “campsite invoicing software” or “marina booking system UK”, PayCamp is on the page. Bookings, invoices, VAT and electricity in one cloud book. They sell to touring parks and marinas; Lighthouse Partners are their founding customers.

I run HolidayFox, so this is not a neutral page. Both can hold a book. The useful question is whether you need their metering and VAT stack, or a PMS that answers at 9pm on your own website.

What PayCamp is, and what they do well

PayCamp is a cloud diary plus site ops: seasonal rates, a customer portal, CRM, Xero/CSV export, compliance documents. Boat hire and yard modules are sold on top. Card payments: PayCamp Payments, or connect your own Stripe.

Things they genuinely do well:

  • It is a real site book. Pitches, plots or berths; invoices; who has paid.
  • Published prices by unit count, every feature on every plan. As shown on paycamp.co.uk/pricing (checked 2026-09-11): Starter £49/month (25 units), Growth £99 (50), Pro £179 (100), Enterprise £299 (200). No setup fee. 14-day trial, no card. Cancel any time. Prices exclude VAT.
  • Electricity metering and UK VAT on the invoice. That extra is why a marina or a metered touring site buys them.
  • No per-booking charge on the subscription. Card fees are separate.

What HolidayFox is, and where we are different

HolidayFox is a full PMS for independent stays: calendar, bookings, payments, guest messaging, self check-in, a daily agenda, a booking widget or hosted website, after-hours live chat, and Google Hotels.

Widget checkout is live on your domain (Stripe). Paying inside the chat thread is still rolling out. You do not need PayCamp for the diary. If you already have it for metering or marina ops, iCal can sync — you do not have to.

  • Job to be done. Both put a book on the site. HolidayFox also answers after hours and lists you on Google Hotels. Their extra is invoicing, VAT and electricity.
  • How you pay. They: a flat monthly by unit count, no booking commission on the subscription. HolidayFox: free for the widget, or from £12.99/month for a full website plus 5% commission on bookings taken through HolidayFox.
  • Where checkout lives. Ours is the on-page widget plus a live assistant on that same domain.

Frequently asked questions

Is HolidayFox a PayCamp alternative?

Yes, for the diary. HolidayFox is a full PMS for independent stays. PayCamp’s extra is invoicing, VAT and electricity (and marina modules). If you do not need that stack, you do not need PayCamp.

How much does PayCamp cost?

As shown on paycamp.co.uk/pricing (checked 2026-09-11): £49/month up to 25 units, then £99 / £179 / £299. No setup fee. 14-day trial. Card fees are extra — their pages disagree between 2.9% + £1 and 2.9% + 30p; ask them. HolidayFox: free for the widget, or from £12.99/month for a full website plus 5% commission on bookings taken through HolidayFox.

Can I keep PayCamp and use HolidayFox?

You can sync via iCal if you already have it. You do not need to. HolidayFox is the diary.
